Calking

Most of the joints where logs cross leak air so after letting the logs settle for a year, we finally calked these joints.  It will make the house much less drafty during the winter months.

Landscaping

Landscapers setting trees (bushes will be planted in the spring)

Finished (phase 1) we went for a low water design because Colorado is a dry climate.

We are nearing the end of the building phase. We have passed all inspections (yay!) and only need to seed the landscape to get our Certificate of Occupancy. Here are some photos to bring you up to date. Move is set for April 29!!!!

Nancy and finish work.

Nancy grouting the tiles in the master bath shower. The decorative tiles match the sinks we got in Santa Fe.
The fireplace stones are dry stacked (no grout).  Nancy is touching up the gaps with dark brown paint..

Nancy has been helping with some of the finish work.

Hardwood Flooring

Flooring started

Sam and crew installing the floor.  Careful fitting around log columns.
We found some great Eucalyptus flooring at Lumber Liquidators.  It's a floating floor which is compatible with the in-floor heating system.  Some woods will discolor, others will warp with the warm floor.  It looks great!
